Merge Gardens is Helsinki-based, Futureplay Games - flagship title and a key growth driver.

To expand the brand, Futureplay decided to produce a series of cinematic animated teasers. Directed and written by Kim Hagen Jensen and produced by Milford anmation studio, the films introduced a broader mythology: a lingering curse, eccentric characters, and a richly layered world filled with mystery.

While the game focuses on merge mechanics and light narrative, the teasers explored a more cinematic and emotionally driven universe. Their distinct tone and visual storytelling attracted a broader audience - including many who weren’t playing the game.

The approach struck a chord. The teaser series found a massive audience on YouTube and went viral on TikTok, racking up more than 30 million views. One trailer alone reached that milestone, while the YouTube channel grew to 25,000 subscribers and now averages around 250,000 views per episode.

Following the relaunch, downloads surged by 60% in just three months, while monthly revenue climbed by 40%.
